Jamboree Arrival Day

It's 7:00am. Didn't we just go to bed. Lucrecia said her hair still wasn't dry from last nights shower and yes we did just go to bed. There are 2 other busses here at the hotel besides  us.  One group came In this morning from Hawaii. They are showering and resting as they have a 5pm check in.

It is now 8am and we are leaving Summersville West VIrgina for our camping adventure. The leaders did a better job at rounding everyone up. There was only 1 room still in bed at 20 minutes till. They figured I out and got them to the bus on time.

The New River George at the gorge was a beautiful sight. The roadsides were adorned with yellow, orange, pink, white, purple, blue and red wild flowers.

It's 8:40 we keep going in circles looking for the road to the Ruby Welcome Center. There are random spots where state troopers are on the road to direct us in the right direction. The tour company office gave the driver the wrong address in the beginning.

8:55 we have arrived. They made a special bus route that is one lane wide to the welcome center. The wait wasn't very long.

10:00 Once to the welcome Center 2 guides came on our bus. They gave the kids a rundown of what needed to be done while the driver was driving us to camp. Wich took about 45 minutes to get to. We are on a gravel road on the property.

It is now 2:00 pm we have been setting up tent since noon. All the tents are set up. The cooking area is also set up. Right now the kids are hot and tired. They are arguing about OCD things like the temt steak isn't in the right spot, they are not spaced right and two of the scouts went to get water. The camp overseerer said we can't walk through each other's campsite and we had to walk by the ditch. Well the kids that went get the water understood they had to travel through the ditch.  Needless to say they lost both 25 gallon igloo coolers in the ditch. Right now there are back at the water station filling them again. We are still waiting on our two camp partners. The next ones should arrive at 3:00.

At 3:30 North Carolina came to our group. The. The Hondorus people arrived at 4:00. The Carolina people had some that were not to shy and the Hondourua people are shy at the moment. Everyone helped finish set up. The camp. I think we finished at 5. Several people took short walks to the store and visit the next campsite. The adults took a short hike to the store. We bought a few items we were missing and didn't think of the long hike up. Vinson kept saying he needs to stop and look at the scenery. But we all knew the real story.  Needless to say we left Lucrecia and him while we made it back to camp. The kids had supper easy. Oh yea the camp advisor said adults are on vacation. So we just stay and visit.

8:00 pm we are all taking showers and leaders are going to meetings. They say this will be a trip to remember. Well we had the shower to remember. It was like taking a bath in a blizard. I hat to wet myself in stages. Lol. The foreign group is now warming up to everyone. One if our scouts brought chess, Magic the Gathering cards, uno and other games. They all started to play till 10:00. We all went to bed as it's goin to be a long day tomorrow.
