Jamboree Travel Day 2

We almost reached the state of Georgia when we were greeted at 5:30am with the bright light from the morning sun. Sleeping in an upright position was not very comfortable and during the night the girls had to move tithe front and later they and some of the boys on the back were lying in the isle sleeping on the floor.  Only 30 minutes later did we made to the Georgia line. Vinson played us the old song Georgia on My Mind.  The kids never heard of that somg. We were like really!  We need to introduce them to some new things. We stopped at the Georgia welcome center to take a break. Off again headed to Atlanta we later stopped for breakfast at Mc Donald's.  It was a much needed rest from all that riding. Now we are on our way to Charlote North Carolina a 4 hour drive. Vinson put on a movie, The Gardians of the Galaxy, for the ride. Almost everyone watched it while the others took another nap.  We made it to North Carolina and took a gas break at the local Loves Truck Stop. Upon retun to the bus the kids voted to watch the Goonies movie until we pick up our tour guide in Charlotte NC. 

It's after 1pm. We have 20 minutes to get to Charlotte. We will be picking up our guide an then have lunch. 

We made it to our guide and also found out that we are switching drivers too.  So we are driver #3. 

The scenery all the way to Virginia looked like the usual southern states with lots of pasture land and some slight hills. It wasn't until we made it to Virginia did the landscape change. The hills became larger and the landscape became more beautiful with the fields and larger hills. You could see in the distance as you pass the small winding hillside roads. Beautiful pastures, farms and barns. Now we are almost to Charlotesville and the hills have turned to mountains. I wish I could take a picture for you. All the ones I  try to take all come out blurry. 

When we made it to Charlotesville we were late for checking into the hotel

Before dinner. It appears the travel company didn't calculate meal stops and the 1 hour time change. So we drove  straight to the restaurant upon arrival. 

We finally made it to our first destination at 8pm in Charlotesville Virginia. We are eating supper and will be heading to the hotel for a good hot bath and a cozy bed. 24 hrs on a bus is exhausting.
