Jamboree Day 2

We were up very early today. 5:30 am. We had to get breakfast and lunch for us to meet the bus at 7am. The bus didn't  show up. They told is to go back to our campsite until we were needed by our guide.

7:30 guide meet us at camp for our hike up the mountain. The tour guy brought us in the wrong direction. We ended up at the zip line area.   So an extra mile for nothing.  Around 9:00 we took a break waiting for our turn to hike up the mountain.  There was at least 100 people here waiting.   The hike was in the canopy of the mountain. So it was mostly very cool. I took some cool pics of some vegetation and the landscape.

10:00 we are still hiking.  The Honduras people are teaching us songs songs. Not sure if we will remember them when we return but we plan on videoing 1 or 2.

11:00 we are still hiking up this mountain. The trail is getting steep and people dying. We had one person that hardly made it this far.

At 12:15 we make it to the top. One of the kids said we hiked 10 1/2 miles and 42 flights of stairs. Omg. But we made it! At the top we picked a cool spot and ate our lunch. It was an awful vacuum packed pulled pork sandwich, fruit cup and pineapple Mango trail miix.

12:45 We went to the right side of the mountain. On this side they had highland activities. We branded our hats and  they tried a hand at roping.  There was some black powder rifles and hatchet throwing. That they could have done.

We turned back and went to the other side of the mountain top. There they had a man playing is bagpipes. The activities we didn't even try because they are just too manly.  One was they had some ropes at different heights set up on some poles like a pole jumper would fly over. They had to swing this teardroped sand filled bag over the different height ropes. The other one was like the Greek
Medicine ball throw but with huge rocks. Lastly was this 12ft post that they ha to lift in the air and fling across the yard. Those were all good activities for those boys and men to feel manly. Lol

2:00 we continued on to the Spartin Races. The girls all wanted to do it but then they didn't. So me the person in I told then if I did it would they do it. Well they all agreed. So this is a 1 mike extreme obstacle course.  We began by a simple jog to our first 4' wall we go oeuvre easily. Then we go down a hill and we are greeted with a army style wire obstacle that we had to crawl on our hands and knees to go through. Then we walked on like a balance beam board. Then we went down anther hill while carrying a 40 pound sack of sand. After we put that down we had to pear this bail of hay on a wall. Then we lifted these 5' water filled tubes in 2 directions. We went  down another hill. Then to go up we had to climb it with a rope. Then at the hope we were greeted by a 12 ft rope wall. Then we went through this tent that had hay baked in the floor about 20 ft in length making tunnels with plywood covering them. So yep crawling on my belly at this point. Then there was a 6 ft sloping wall we had to climb. We had to help each other over it. Then we had to climb a rope and ring the cow bell. Ok at this point I was exhausted. I didn't make the bell but he let me go through. Was nice of him because the others told us if we went around a obsticLe we had to get off the course. Then the last obsticle we had to roll through this wooden wall.  We finished the race! We all got this cool patch for finishing the race. The girls and I are exhausted, but we did it. All I can say is I did a Spartin race once in my life. Lol

4:00 we are headed down the hill to meet our busses. It was almost mass confusion. There were about 1,000 people leaving at the same time. They had charter busses waiting for us thank goodness. They loaded us up 55 people at a time. We all got scattered into 6 different busses. It was utter chaos. We had instructions to get off at the second stop. When we got to the first stop they told us we all had to get off. We didn't like that idea. Why? It's still a 5 mile hike back to camp. Then we talked with some people while we waited for our kids. We made such a stink that there was a local bus driver working that said damn it I'm taking these people there. So the kids we did get to gather we jumped on the bus. He was so nice that he dropped us off at our campsite.

5:30 back at camp. We made us a quick supper and took some hot baths with our solar showers.

7:30 Fox Trot bash. They had a local band do a bash for the kids. It was a mixture of blue grass and old country.

11:00 we are gathering everyone together for the evening.
