Jamboree Day 5

Horns and announcements about lightning went off at 3am.   The wind began to blow furiously. You could hear the wind gust flow through the campsite. As the wind hit the first tent and flowed through it sounded like rippling of flapping tents. Then it began to rain and rain. It rained till 10:00.

7:00 we are up for breakfast. The kids got their trading cards. They have spent at least an hour sorting their cards and trading. They are trying to get the 101 cards for the prize of a knife.

12:00 the kids went their own way. The adults Walked to the summit center and ate lunch.

1:30 Lucrecia and I rode the canopy tour zip. I was nervous at first. We got a safety briefing.  Then we went through vigorous harness  checks. Then we zipped through the trees. The first zip was pretty disappointing. Then the next 2 were like awesome!  Vinson was to scared to do it so he took our pictures.

4:30  we were done zipping. Lucrecia was having issues with a muscle in her ankle from waking so much. She asked to get her ankle wrapped. They offered us a ride back to camp. We didn't say no. Why?  Because from where we were at is a 2 hour like to camp.

7:00 we took some baths and our folks cooked everyone gumbo.  The Hondorous and South Carolina folks loved it. people loved it!  The leader said he's had gumbo 3 times and it's the best he's ever eaten.

Preparing for Trump and day Of service. We have official word that President Trump will be addressing the scouts on Monday. We pre packed all our bags. We basically need nothing with us. We are getting up at 5:00 to go on our day of service trip.
