Excuse my grammar and thinking, as I'm writing these blogs from my phone.
I worked all day even took a trip to Marksville. When I got home we finished up packing and completed a few chores. We freshened up for the trip and my mom made me some chicken, pork sausage gravy. I think she was more sad than anythjg to see me go. My sister and her hubby can eat with us. When it wa time to leave my sister offered to take us to the bus. My mom was upset because she wanted to take us. So we all rode
together. When we arrived the bus was there along with at least 40 to 50 people. 17 were other scouts. The rest were parents, siblings and grandparents. The parents were happy to see their kids go on the trip. They were also worried that they wouldn't take their meds nor behave. I think we got it now. But we all added our luggage. The whole under cargo bay consisted of identical blue bags. Several of us had our names embroideried on them for easier sorting. We took a group photo that will be put in the Bunkie Record and we boarded the bus. It was a sight with everyone standing there waving to is all as we left.
We took a 2hr 15 min drive to Monroe to pick up the rest of our contegent. Upon arrival it was just like home with everyone seeing their children off.
On the way to Monroe we noticed the panels on the floor in the back of the bus was lose and letting heat in from the engine. Several of the men went with screws and gorilla tape repaired it for the remainder of our trip. After the repairs we took a council group photo, said a prayer and watched the crowd wave us goodbyes.
We traveled all night only taking 2 restroom stops. We changed drivers at 4am
Love it! Keep the updates coming!
